International and multilingual

All abas eB applications can be created and operated multilingually. Texts, graphics and data can be translated or adjusted to the respective language by using special editors. All texts and data are created in Unicode. ABAS is represented internationally by more than 40 partners worldwide, the partner network is being continuously extended. At present over 25 languages are available, including many European languages, American and British English, Russian, Chinese and Arabic. Further languages are available on request, or can be expanded easily using one of the editors.

Extensive tools

The abas eB tools are all developed using the Eclipse® tool platform. It supports the system administrator and project manager in making settings and adjustments. Further tools can be used on this platform, if necessary. By means of the abas eB tools, adjustments can be carried out fast and easily so that project costs can be lowered.

Secure data transfer

The data transfer is secured via SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) and certificates. By means of Secure Sockets Layer, data, which is transferred via http, is protected by an encoding that is activated by the SSL certificate of the abas eB server. Thus, data protection and integrity during the session between abas eB and your browser can be guaranteed.

Portable and scalable

The use of modern Java technology makes it possible to run abas eB on all current Linux platforms, as well as Windows XP. By using the Apache Web server and Apache Servlet/JSP Container Tomcat, we are able to distribute the increased level of demand to several abas eB nodes by means of load balancing. Every abas eB node works with its own shadow client so that the operation of the abas ERP system is not interrupted. Thus, abas eB is scalable and even if demand is increasing and more access takes place, stability can be maintained and the response time stays in a reasonable range.

User-group specific allocation of permissions and setup options

The administrator can set up at any time,

• who is to see, edit or delete which data
• who is allowed to carry out which actions.

This can be set up for user groups (e.g. customers, vendors, employees), as well as for individual users (e.g. customer Smith). It is also planned to create a terminal device specific layout. Customer Smith will be able to use the application on his PDA (resolution 320x200) the same way as employee Miller on his 19'' monitor (resolution 1280x1024).
